Book: Breakfast of Champions
Author: Kurt Vonnegut
"A lot of people were like Dwayne; they created bad chemicals in their own bodies which were bad for their heads. But there were thousands upon thousands of people in the city who bought bad chemicals (...)"
I like this quote because the metaphor of "chemicals" is very clever. In the first part of the quote it refers to mental illness/harmful thoughts, but in the second part it refers to drugs. I also like the mood of this quote, how it's kind of somber and mysterious and you can interpret it in different ways.
